TAPE ART: Tape Art is the visual language of the now. As a progressive discipline within Contemporary Art, it detaches itself from the classic canvas to conquer three-dimensional space. Instead of applying paint, we draw lines with adhesive. What began in the Urban Art scene as rebellious intervention has evolved into a sophisticated genre for Interior Design and Branding. TAPE OVER represents the evolution of this medium: moving beyond rigid geometries to embrace organic forms and immersive installations. Whether on glass, concrete, or wood, Tapeart is flexible, transformative, and establishes a direct connection between the viewer and the environment.
STREET ART / URBAN ART: The pavement is our origin. Street Art and Urban Art serve as the cultural bedrock of our work. Unlike permanent graffiti, Tape Art offers a smart, curated alternative: it is "non-destructive." We can temporarily appropriate and transform facades and spaces without leaving permanent traces. This makes Adhesive Art the perfect medium for festivals, heritage buildings, and modern City Marketing.
COMPOSITION In the world of tape, every stroke is a final decision. For us, composition means Site-Specific Art: we react to the architecture. Once we have taped that specific area, the interplay of rhythm, color, and Negative Space creates a visual tension that guides the eye. Masterful composition transforms a blank wall into a dynamic narrative.
TEMPORARY ART: Beauty lies in the fleeting moment. Temporary Art is a core element of modern event culture. Since our materials are typically removable without residue, we create exclusive experiences for the "now." An installation for a single night, a Mural for a week—this impermanence elevates the value of the experience for agencies and brands.
II. MATERIALS
DUCT TAPE / GAFFA: The material for grit. Duct Tape (or Gaffa) is fabric-reinforced, extremely adhesive, and weather-resistant. We utilize it for large-scale outdoor works and textured surfaces. Its texture lends the work a raw, haptic quality.
MASKING TAPE / PAINTER'S TAPE The instrument of precision. Masking Tape is paper-based and our favorite for intricate indoor works, Glass Art, and performances. It is easy to shape and remove without a trace—ideal for temporary installations on delicate surfaces.
VINYL TAPE / FOIL The specialist for flow. Vinyl Tape is elastic and typically features a glossy surface. It is indispensable for the TAPE OVER signature style: organic forms, perfect curves, and circles. Where paper tape tears, vinyl flows.
PACKING TAPE Painting with light. Packing Tape Art involves layering transparent brown tape onto light boxes. The varying thickness creates different shades, resulting in photorealistic imagery that reveals its full magic and depth when backlit (Light Art).
III. TECHNIQUES
ANAMORPHOSIS: The perspective shift. An Anamorphosis is a geometric construction that only looks correct from a single vantage point (the "sweet spot"). If the viewer moves, the image dissolves into abstract lines. We use this technique to create optical illusions and force the viewer to interact with the space.
LAYERING: The secret to depth. In Layering, we stack tapes over one another to create new shapes, structures, and color blends. Especially with transparent tapes, this creates complex nuances. This technique transforms a flat graphic into an object that appears three-dimensional.
CUTTER / SCALPEL: Our brushes are made of steel. The scalpel is the vital tool for finishing. We use it to trim edges and achieve the razor-sharp precision that defines TAPE OVER, carving filigree patterns out of broad blocks of color.
MIXED MEDIA: Crossing boundaries. Tape Art works brilliantly in symbiosis. In Mixed Media, we combine adhesive tape with other mediums like spray paint, video projections (Tape Mapping), or physical objects to expand the dimensions of the artwork.
