The Brief: At the CityCube Berlin, one of Germany's largest congress centers, something entirely unprecedented was to be created: an official world record. The mission was to construct the world's largest portable tape artwork - a massive expanse of 100 square meters. Fitting the context, the artwork was to be a visual exploration of the human body, specifically the skin as our largest organ and a complex protective layer.
The Concept: "DERMA TAPE TAPE OVER team drew a direct philosophical and material parallel: adhesive tape is essentially like skin—it protects, it binds, and it acts as a layer over surfaces. The concept translates the microscopic complexity of human tissue into an abstract macro-format. Cellular structures, organic layers (epidermis/dermis), and neural networks were designed not in a dry, medical way, but as a massive, flowing organism made of geometric and organic lines.
The Execution: Creating 100 square meters of art is a logistical and physical marathon. The absolute uniqueness of this record lies in its portability. To make the artwork transportable, it was not taped directly onto a wall, but onto a gigantic, modular system of individual panels. The team utilized kilometers of duct tape over countless working hours. Soft, organic shapes had to be simulated using an inherently angular, industrial material. Every strip had to be perfectly placed so that the image would merge across the seams of the panels into a seamless, gigantic "skin." We took the microscopic beauty of tissue and tape that complexity onto a monumental scale.
The Outcome: A literal record-breaking masterpiece. "Derma Tape" shatters the previous dimensions of tape art. It is a monumental testament to the power of the medium, combining the aesthetics of science and Urban Art into a 100-square-meter breathing organism that, thanks to its modularity, can be resurrected at new locations at any time.

Die Aufgabe bestand darin, das größte transportable Tape-Kunstwerk der Welt zu erschaffen – eine gewaltige Fläche von 100 Quadratmetern. Passend zum Kontext („Derma Tape“) sollte das Werk eine visuelle Auseinandersetzung mit dem menschlichen Körper, speziell der Haut als unserem größten Organ und komplexer Schutzhülle, sein.
Das Konzept: „DERMA TAPE“ Das Team von TAPE OVER zog eine direkte philosophische und materielle Parallele: Klebeband ist im Grunde wie eine Haut – es schützt, es verbindet, es legt sich als Schicht über Oberflächen. Das Konzept übersetzt die mikroskopische Komplexität menschlichen Gewebes in ein abstraktes Makro-Format. Zellulare Strukturen, organische Schichten (Epidermis/Dermis) und neuronale Vernetzungen wurden nicht medizinisch-trocken, sondern als gewaltiger, fließender Organismus aus geometrischen und organischen Linien konzipiert.
Die Umsetzung: 100 Quadratmeter Kunst zu erschaffen, ist ein logistischer und physischer Marathon. Die absolute Besonderheit dieses Rekords liegt in der Portabilität. Um das Werk transportfähig zu machen, wurde nicht direkt auf eine Wand geklebt, sondern auf ein gigantisches, modulares System aus Einzelplatten. Jeder Streifen musste perfekt sitzen, damit das Bild über die Nahtstellen der Platten hinweg zu einer nahtlosen, gigantischen „Haut“ verschmilzt.
Das Ergebnis: Ein buchstäblich rekordverdächtiges Meisterwerk. „Derma Tape“ sprengt die bisherigen Dimensionen der Tape Art.
