THE ORIGIN: FROM WEDGE TO FONT
At the heart of the "ORIGINS" exhibition lies a cuneiform artifact—arguably the earliest form of human writing. Our piece "FLOW OF SCRIPT" is a direct artistic response to this historical milestone. We analyzed the rigid, wedge-shaped marks pressed into ancient clay and reinterpreted them. The angular aesthetic of cuneiform translates perfectly into Tapeart, as the medium naturally creates straight lines and sharp angles. We took the geometry of the first font and taped that ancient structure into a modern context.
THE MOTIF: A FISH SWIMMING THROUGH TIME
The mural is not merely an abstract arrangement; it forms the silhouette of a Primeval Fish. This motif connects two lines of evolution: the biological evolution of life (emerging from water) and the cultural evolution of the mind (writing). The body of the fish consists of fragments that resemble modern calligraphy or deconstructed cuneiform script. It symbolically swims through millennia, carrying humanity's knowledge on its scales.
THE SYMBIOSIS: NATURE MEETS CULTURE
We translated ancient symbolism into a contemporary visual language. The "scales" of the fish are citations of the characters. Thus, the creature becomes a vessel of information. It is a visual metaphor showing that culture and nature, script and life, are inseparably interwoven. We visualized the fluid journey of communication and tape that evolution onto the museum wall as a living, breathing entity.
DER URSPRUNG: VOM KEIL ZUR SCHRIFT
Im Zentrum der Ausstellung „ORIGINS“ steht ein Artefakt der Keilschrift – der wohl frühesten Form der menschlichen Schrift. Unser Werk „Flow of Script“ ist eine direkte künstlerische Antwort auf diesen historischen Meilenstein. Wir haben die starren, in Ton gedrückten Keile der Antike genommen und sie neu interpretiert. Die kantige Ästhetik der Keilschrift findet sich perfekt im Medium Tape Art wieder, da Klebeband von Natur aus gerade Linien und scharfe Winkel erzeugt.
DAS MOTIV: EIN FISCH SCHWIMMT DURCH DIE ZEIT
Das Wandbild ist keine bloße abstrakte Anordnung, sondern formt sich zu einem Urzeit-Fisch. Dieses Motiv verbindet zwei Evolutionslinien: Die biologische Evolution des Lebens (aus dem Wasser) und die kulturelle Evolution des Geistes (die Schrift). Der Körper des Fisches besteht aus Fragmenten, die wie moderne Kalligrafie oder dekonstruierte Keilschrift wirken. Er schwimmt symbolisch durch die Jahrtausende und trägt das Wissen der Menschheit auf seinen Schuppen.
DIE SYMBIOSE: NATUR TRIFFT KULTUR
Wir haben die antike Symbolik in eine moderne Bildsprache übersetzt. Die "Schuppen" des Fisches sind Zitate der Schriftzeichen. So wird das Tier zum Träger der Information. Es ist eine visuelle Metapher dafür, dass Kultur und Natur, Schrift und Leben untrennbar miteinander verwoben sind – ein fließender Übergang vom ersten Ritz im Stein bis zur heutigen Kommunikation.
