THE IDEA: TRUE TO THE NAME
For the wall design at the Berliner Berg Brewery, we lived up to our name TAPE OVER by transforming the surface exclusively with adhesive tape. The motif "Brewing Mountain" plays with the identity of the place, depicting an abstract mountain landscape. The twist lies in the material: We used white duct tape combined with reflecting aluminum tape. We took the raw atmosphere of the brewery and taped that rugged landscape onto the surface.
THE DESIGN: LIGHT AS AN ACTOR
This project is a perfect example of modern art in an interior space. The reflecting tape reacts to the lighting conditions in the brewery. Depending on the time of day or illumination, the mural changes: sometimes it appears subtle and restrained, other times it shines brightly and dominates the room. It is a living installation that works without electricity, thriving solely on material properties.
THE TECHNIQUE: MINIMALISM AS A STATEMENT
Tapeart is often associated with colorful, loud designs. Here, we prove the opposite. With just two "colors" (white and silver) and clear, geometric lines, we create depth and atmosphere. It is a creative wall idea that shows how simple means (DIY spirit on a pro level) can go far beyond a simple wall decal effect to create genuine, immersive art. We designed a structure that complements the industrial charm and taped that vision into reality without overcrowding the space.
DIE IDEE: KONSEQUENT GEKLEBT
Für die Wandgestaltung in der Berliner Berg Brauerei blieben wir unserem Namen TAPE OVER treu und transformierten die Fläche ausschließlich mit Klebeband. Das Motiv "Brewing Mountain" spielt mit der Identität des Ortes: Es zeigt eine abstrakte Berglandschaft, die sich über die Wand zieht. Doch der Clou liegt im Material: Wir verwendeten weißes Duct Tape (Gewebeband) in Kombination mit reflektierendem Aluminium-Tape.
DAS DESIGN: LICHT ALS AKTEUR
Dieses Projekt ist ein perfektes Beispiel für moderne Kunst im Innenraum. Das reflektierende Tape reagiert auf die Lichtverhältnisse in der Brauerei. Je nach Tageszeit oder Beleuchtung verändert sich das Wandbild (Mural): Mal wirkt es subtil und zurückhaltend, mal strahlt es hell auf und dominiert den Raum. Es ist eine lebendige Installation, die ohne Strom funktioniert und nur durch die Materialeigenschaften lebt.
DIE TECHNIK: MINIMALISMUS ALS STATEMENT
Oft wird Tape Art mit bunten, lauten Farben assoziiert. Hier beweisen wir das Gegenteil. Mit nur zwei "Farben" (Weiß und Silber) und klaren, geometrischen Linien schaffen wir Tiefe und Atmosphäre. Es ist eine kreative Wandidee, die zeigt, wie man mit einfachen Mitteln (DIY-Spirit auf Profi-Level) einen simplen Wandtattoo-Effekt weit hinter sich lässt und echte, raumgreifende Kunst schafft. Die Klebestreifen formen eine Landschaft, die den industriellen Charme der Brauerei unterstreicht.
You can find this 5x3m tape art mural in a local brewery in Berlin called "Berliner Berg". We used white duct tape as well as reflecting aluminium tape to create a simple & atmospheric tapeart piece.
