Right inside Modulor, the pilgrimage site for Berlin's creatives, we closed the circle. This is where we buy our supplies, where our ideas start - and with this project, we brought the art directly back to its source.
The mission was to transform a massive, functional concrete column within the retail space. We didn't want to hide the static element, but to celebrate it. The column became a totem of creativity. We wrapped the raw concrete in an explosion of colors and geometric shapes spiraling upwards.
It is a piece about departure and energy. The lines suggest movement, as if the creativity residing in this building is physically breaking through the ceiling. For the visitor, it’s a moment of pause between the shelves: proof of what can emerge from the materials currently in their shopping basket if one just lets the impulse flow. We took the potential of the store and taped that energy around its structural core.
Mitten im Modulor, der Pilgerstätte für Berliner Kreative, haben wir den Kreis geschlossen. Hier kaufen wir unser Material, hier beginnen unsere Ideen – und mit diesem Projekt haben wir die Kunst direkt an ihren Ursprung zurückgebracht.
Die Aufgabe war es, eine massive, funktionale Betonsäule im Verkaufsraum zu transformieren. Wir wollten das statische Element nicht verstecken, sondern es feiern. Die Säule wurde zu einem Totem der Kreativität. Wir umhüllten den rohen Beton mit einer Explosion aus Farben und geometrischen Formen, die sich spiralförmig nach oben schrauben.
Es ist eine Arbeit über Aufbruch und Energie. Die Linienführung suggeriert Bewegung, als würde die Kreativität, die in diesem Haus herrscht, physisch durch die Decke brechen. Für den Besucher ist es ein Moment des Innehaltens zwischen den Regalen: Ein Beweis dafür, was aus den Materialien, die sie gerade im Einkaufskorb haben, entstehen kann, wenn man den Impuls einfach fließen lässt.
