THE IDEA: ANALOG MEETS DIGITAL
For the Airbus office in Berlin, we realized a futuristic art project. In this tape art piece called "FLYING MACHINES", the physical world of adhesive tape art merges seamlessly with digital projection. True to our TAPE OVER philosophy, we didn't use a single drop of paint for this mural, but formed the static foundation purely out of black duct tape. We observed the mechanics of aviation and taped that complex structure onto the wall as an analog blueprint.
THE DESIGN: DYNAMIC STRUCTURES
The three wall designs each 5x3 meter depict intricate, technical flying machines. The hard, precise lines of the tape serve as the perfect scaffolding for the subsequent video mapping. This combination brings dynamic movement to the otherwise static installation. We took the innovative spirit of Airbus and taped that vision into reality before illuminating it with digital light.
THE TECHNIQUE: TAPE MAPPING
Together with visual artist ONDE, we used the MadMapper software to project custom-tailored video content with pinpoint accuracy onto our analog tape framework. As a result, the raw indoor street art comes to life - lines begin to pulse, surfaces light up, and shapes seem to rotate. It elevates the graphic character of our urban art to a completely new, highly technological level.
DIE IDEE: ANALOG TRIFFT DIGITAL
Für das Airbus-Büro in Berlin haben wir ein futuristisches Kunstprojekt realisiert. Bei diesem Tape Art Werk namens „FLYING MACHINES“ verschmilzt die physische Welt der Klebeband Kunst mit digitaler Projektion. Gemäß unserer TAPE OVER Philosophie verwendeten wir für das Wandbild keinen einzigen Tropfen Farbe, sondern formten die statische Basis rein aus schwarzem Klebeband.
DAS DESIGN: DYNAMISCHE STRUKTUREN
Die drei jeweils 5x3 Meter großen Wanddesign zeigen komplexe, technische Flugmaschinen. Die klaren, harten Linien des Tapes dienen als perfektes Gerüst für das anschließende Video Mapping. Diese Kombination bringt Bewegung in die sonst statische Wandgestaltung. Es entsteht eine multimediale Installation, die den Innovationsgeist von Airbus widerspiegelt und die Raumwahrnehmung verändert.
DIE TECHNIK: TAPE MAPPING
Zusammen mit dem Visual-Artist ONDE nutzten wir die Software MadMapper, um maßgeschneiderte Videoinhalte millimetergenau auf unser analoges Tape-Gerüst zu projizieren. Dadurch erwacht die rohe Street Art buchstäblich zum Leben – die geklebten Linien fangen an zu pulsieren, Flächen leuchten auf und rotieren. Dieses Zusammenspiel hebt den graphischen Charakter unserer Urban Art auf ein völlig neues, hochtechnologisches Level.
