Amidst the pulsing Strawberry Festival in Shanghai, one of Asia's largest music events, two worlds of urban art collided. On a massive, custom-built cube, the pioneers of Tape Art - TAPE OVER - and the grandmaster of photorealistic graffiti - Case Maclaim - engaged in a monumental collaboration.
The project was a visual dialogue between tool and material. Case Maclaim, renowned for his incredibly detailed depictions of hands, sprayed photorealistic fragments that appeared almost tangible—soft, organic, and human. TAPE OVER responded with the precise, cool aesthetic of adhesive tape.
A fascinating style fusion emerged: The sprayed hands seem to interact with the taped geometric structures—holding them, pulling them, or bringing them into existence. The stark contrast between the fleeting spray mist and the sharp edges of the tape created an optical tension that brought the cube to life.
Over several days, festival-goers witnessed a Live Performance as this 360-degree artwork grew. It was more than a picture; it was a demonstration of Urban Art in its most versatile form—massive, loud, and technically brilliant. We took the human touch of the spray can and tapet that geometric structure right into its grip.
