The Brief: For the prestigious Fine Art Center in Kuwait City, the challenge was to develop a spatial concept that thematizes the creative process itself. The goal was sophisticated interior styling that fills the massive open space without overwhelming it. We needed to create a piece of contemporary art that would inspire every artist walking through the doors. We saw the blank white canvas and tape that potential into reality.
The Concept: "DRAWING" TAPE OVER chose a radically reduced approach titled. The concept was to translate the aesthetic of a fleeting hand drawing into a permanent wall design. The design channels abstract expressionism - playing with perception. From a distance, it looks like a chaotic pencil drawing; up close, the deliberate structure reveals itself.
The Execution: Using colorful transparant foil on a glass background, the team focused on high contrast and minimalism. This 20x15m piece is line art in its most extreme form. Although the motif appears as a spontaneous scribble, the execution demanded absolute craftsmanship. We took the raw energy of a sketch and taped that directly onto the architecture to create a powerful dynamic.
The Outcome: A spatial artwork with massive visual impact. The project demonstrates how simple materials can be used to generate complex graphic textures in 3D space. It uses abstract colorful aesthetics to turn a wall into a visual statement.
Das Briefing: Für das renommierte Fine Art Center in Kuwait City sollte eine Raumgestaltung entwickelt werden, die den kreativen Prozess selbst thematisiert. Das Ziel war ein anspruchsvolles Interior Styling, das den immensen, offenen Raum füllt, ohne ihn zu erdrücken. Es galt, eine inspirierende Atmosphäre für Besucher und Künstler zu schaffen, die als Contemporary Art für sich selbst steht.
Das Konzept: TAPE OVER wählte einen radikal reduzierten Ansatz: „DRAWING“. Die Idee war, die Ästhetik einer flüchtigen Handzeichnung in ein monumentales Wall Design zu übersetzen. Das Design ist purer Abstract Expressionism – es spielt mit der Wahrnehmung. Aus der Ferne wirkt es wie eine chaotische Bleistiftzeichnung, aus der Nähe offenbart sich die strukturierte Ordnung der Linien.
Die Umsetzung: Mit schwarzer Folie auf weißem Grund setzte das Team auf High Contrast und Minimalismus. Das 20x15m große Werk ist Line Art in ihrer extremsten Form. Obwohl das Motiv wie ein spontaner Scribble wirkt, erforderte das „Sketching“ mit Klebeband höchstes Craftsmanship. Jede Linie wurde bewusst gesetzt, um eine Dynamic zu erzeugen, die den Betrachter förmlich in das Bild hineinzieht.
Das Ergebnis: Ein Raumkunstwerk mit enormem Visual Impact. Die Arbeit zeigt eindrucksvoll, wie transparente Klebefolien genutzt werden können, um komplexe graphische Texturen und Tiefe im Raum zu erzeugen.
